LITTLE GUNOLENA NCHA LTE $ 81'000 . 2002 NCHA Open Futurity Finalist 7th place West Texas Open Derby Classic Finalist West Texas Ltd. Open Derby Classic Champion HERDA N/N - EVA Negative & yearly vaccinated Little Gunolena by Playgun, out of Panolas Little Lena (LTE $81,000.) was born and raised on our Ranch in Valley View, TX. He has been in training with James Payne as a two year old and with Bronc Willoughby as a three year old who also showed him at the 2002 NCHA Open Futurity in Fort Worth. We knew he was special and we were looking forward to show him at the NCHA Futurity when suddenly, Friday, September 13th 2002, just eleven weeks before the Futurity he had to undergo colic surgery. After surgery he came home where he spent the days in his stall, watching the mares and babies playing in the pasture while everybody else went to pre-works and got ready for the real thing!
Two weeks before the Futurity started, the veterinarian decided the stud was strong enough to go to Fort Worth. Little Gunolena cut a cow for the first time since his surgery on Friday November 8th, and just shortly after that he was shown on the first day of the open Futurity and marked a 221 - the second highest score-! He had the third highest combined score to advance to the semi-finals and he took the 7th place in the finals. What a remarkable horse! Please click on the link on top of this page to see his past foal crops slide show and have a look at his babies: They are good looking with a big hip, low hooks a pretty head and soft eyes. We are excited to watch his first foals perform and we are very happy about the trainer's comments. They all seem to be very trainable, willing and they are great athletes. For the breeding season 2010 Little Gunolena will be standing at the Mountain Park Ranch, Valley View, TX. The breeding fee will still be $ 1'500. which includes the chute fee. Proven mares receive special consideration. Our breeding veterinarian is Paul Morris D.V.M., M.S. from Pilot Point, TX. You will also be able to receive shipped semen. Little Gunolena's breeding rate is 95 % with the first shipment or artificial insemination. For inquiries please e-mail us at Mountain Park Ranch.
